The List

In life, I have two goals.  One is to invent a teleporter and create a library on the moon.  A slightly more realistic one is to see as much of the UNESCO World Heritage List as possible.  Still impossible granted, but at least I’m trying.  Though the Minaret and Archaeological Remains of Jam (mmm, jam) in Afghanistan could be very tricky.  Still, the patheticness of my own list is here for all to see.

#320 – Works of Antoni Gaudí
#370 – Durham Castle and Cathedral
#426 – Westminster Palace, Westminster Abbey and Saint Margaret’s Church
#430 – Fronters of the Roman Empire
#438 – The Great Wall of China
#439 – Imperial Palaces of the Ming and Qing Dynasties
#441 – Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor
#488 – Tower of London
#532 – Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin
#600 – Paris, Banks of the Seine
#616 – Historic Centre of Prague
#624 – Town of Bamberg

#881 – Temple of Heaven: an Imperial Sacrificial Altar in Beijing
#896 – Museumsinsel (Museum Island), Berlin
#943 – Belfries of Belgium and France
#1004 – Major Town Houses of the Architect Victor Horta

#1150 – Liverpool – Maritime Mercantile City

#1298 – Stoclet House

I’ve also just seen (25/02/10) that Paddington Station (famous for a immigrant bear infestation), is on the tentative list.  That may have just ruined this for me…

*technically removed from the list, but it still counted when I was there!
